We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to oversee daily transport operations, ensuring fleet efficiency, legal compliance, and high service standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing drivers, vehicles, routing, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage daily transport operations, including route planning, scheduling, and fleet utilisation.
- Ensure full compliance with UK transport legislation, Operator Licence requirements, and DVSA standards.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, MOTs, and defect reporting.
- Manage drivers’ hours, tachograph compliance, and working time regulations.
- Recruit, train, and supervise drivers and transport staff.
- Monitor KPIs, fuel usage, costs, and operational efficiency.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and non-compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate transport records and audits.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure service delivery.
- Proven experience in a Transport Manager or similar role within the UK.
- Strong knowledge of Operator Licence compliance and transport legislation.
- CPC qualification (Transport Manager CPC) preferred or required.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong IT and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
